Your range of goods should include the basics, such as bed rolls, sleeping bags and groundsheets, but for those of you with large tents you might want to get a foldaway table and chairs as well. Just remember you might need a trailer to transport it all behind your car!

When it comes to buying goods, it’s always advisable to shop around. Some items can only be bought at specialist stores, but it’s always worth asking if you can negotiate a discount, especially if you are buying several items.
Many shops sell tents, sleeping bags and other basic goods nowadays, so for the most popular items an internet search should reveal the best places to go. Indeed, many supplies can be bought more cheaply online.
